David Smerdon Wins Oceania Zonal 2009
Oceania Zonal which served as qualifier for future World Cup at Khanty Mansiysk was won by GM-elected David Smerdon (2489) . The winner is one point ahead of his teenage tailer FM James Morris (2114), who made a good tournament ahead of top seeded GM Zhao Zong-Yuan 2583 with 6.5 points.
